The start going down Banzai Hill and wide open into the turn I am standing in. David Bailey has the holeshot on the left and Bob Hannah is leaping off the ledge. Banzai was so dangerous, that they only opened it up to the pros once a month for the CMC thousand dollar purse or for a national. The amatures entered the track on the right. It looks somewhat mild from this view, but when you went down, you could not see the track over the ledge that Bob is leaping from. The bikes also went through incredible G forces when they hit bottom because the track actually goes up at the bottom. These guys were hitting over sixty miles an hour down Banzai!
