Dan Geery
My
Name is Dan Geery. I was an AMA professional from 1975 to 1980.
Grew up racing in the Northern California MX scene, 1971 to
1986. Had the privilege of riding with some of the top
professionals in Nor-cal and nationally ranked pro's. Made many
a trek to Southern California, to chase the factory dream.
Turned pro in a span of eight months. I went to Hangtown in
1974, and rode the novice class. Told my friends I will be on
the Pro start line in the next year. It was so cool to line up
with Marty Smith, my then hero. The track was a muddy mess, I
actually beat Tommy Croft in my qualifier to go to the main
motos. Lots of local success, won alot of races at Carnegie
Cycle Park, Sunnyvale MX, and most of the tracks in Northern
California. The 70's and 80's were a perfect time to be a
motocrosser. Tracks everywhere.
