Bob Hannah says
that these are the best forks Showa ever made. The lower sliders
are magnesium and treated with a greenish brown kashima coating.
The action is real plush and progressive. The internals are
cartridge and the chrome stanchions are triple plated for less
stiction. They feature adjustable rebound and compression
whereas the stock forks only featured compression adjustment.
They were known as frogies because of their color.

The top triple
clamp is magnesium while the bottom is forged aluminum. There
were eccentric bushings available to alter the off-set. The
rider had a choice of two handlebar locations. The top bar clamp
is a one piece magnesium unit for extra strength. All fasteners
are titanium. Under the new production rule, the frame and
swingarm had to remain stock.

The rear shock uses
a stock hard anodized body but was fitted with a larger shaft,
different internals and adjustable compression and rebound
damping. The larger rear brake master cylinder can be seen here
behind the special aluminum frame guard. Below the rear rim is a
works D.I.D. 2.50 for more tire contact with the ground.

The chain guide is
thicker than stock and is held to the swing-arm with titanium
fasteners. Below is a hand machined works sprocket held to the
hub with titanium bolts.

Above is an HRC
shift lever made from steel for extra strength. There were
several sizes to choose from. The ignition cover is sand-cast
magnesium. Below is a sand-cast magnesium front brake master
cylinder that is larger than stock and it leads to a
steel-braided line.
