Welcome to mxworksbike.com!
Now for the
first time, an online museum dedicated to the Works bike.
The focus of this site will primarily be the factory efforts in
professional Motocross from the 1960's, 1970's and 1980's.
This site promises to host the most in-depth, comprehensive and
factual information related to this sport. Featured will
be the largest collection of works and historical motocross
bikes in the world. Many are the actual Championship bikes
ridden by some of the greatest riders of all time. Some of
these bikes are still in the original condition that they were in
when they were retired after their last race. The
hyper-evolution of the 1970's is well represented on this site.
You will hear from the riders themselves, what they thought of
their bikes. What worked, what failed. You will also
hear from the mechanics and engineers who worked on and
developed these ultimate bikes.
There
will be interviews of the factory riders and mechanics.
Many things that were never revealed before will be told now.
Also there will be technical information from the riders and
mechanics own files. Also, visit the photo vault often.
Photos from a collection of over 10,000 photographs will be
added frequently. Many of the riders themselves will share
with us, photos from their own personal archives.
Many of these have never been seen before. There is a
memorabilia section that displays race worn gear, and other
miscellaneous items. Also is the works parts section,
there you will see many of the special parts that are in these
bikes. Also there will be many works parts that the
factory's experimented with that were tested but never used.
If I
waited until I put everything on this site, it never would have
been completed. I am starting it with a fair amount of
content and will add frequently. I want to thank Scott
Steger and Mark Halloway for helping me build this site. I
especially want to thank all the riders, team managers and
mechanics for all their input. Their eagerness to help was
amazing. I hope you have as much fun looking at this as I
did putting it together.
